The camera may be high, low, distant, backlit, or briefly blocked. Singles and doubles also distribute player motion differently.
These conditions do not make rally suggestions useless. They explain why the best workflow combines detection with quick correction. Instead of locating every point from zero, you inspect a smaller set of proposed clips and spend attention only where the boundary does not match the match.
How to review suggested rallies
- Play from the beginning. Confirm the clip includes the serve or the moment you consider the rally start. Move the start earlier if necessary.
- Watch the outcome. Make sure the shuttle landing, fault, or decisive moment remains visible before the clip ends.
- Check the reset. Trim excessive walking or waiting, but keep a short reaction when it helps explain the point.
- Look for missing action. If two exchanges were joined or one rally was skipped, use the timeline controls to separate or restore the useful interval.
- Score only after review. Assigning the winner after watching the accepted clip reduces the chance that a boundary problem becomes a score problem.

What on-device processing changes
Processing the original recording on the iPhone reduces the need to send a large match file to a remote editor before review can begin. It also means the phone is doing substantial media work. Long or high-resolution recordings can take time and storage, and the app should remain open while an active local analysis or export is running.

How to judge whether suggestions helped
Count the work you avoided, not only the cuts you corrected. If a long recording becomes a readable list of rally candidates and most of your time moves from searching to reviewing, detection is doing useful work. If a venue or angle creates repeated problems, keep the original recording, adjust the accepted rallies carefully, and treat the pattern as feedback rather than hiding it.
